Specialist Holidays Group
The Specialist Holidays Group was established in spring 2000 and comprises a
portfolio of specialist tour operating businesses including Austravel, Magic,
Thompsom Worldwide and Spanish Harbour.
The Group is owned by TUI Northern Europe, which itself is part of TUI AG, the
largest tourism and services group in the world, employing 80,000 people in 500
companies around the world.
Since early 2001 Specialist Holidays Group has used Isis consultants to maintain
and improve their Agresso Business Information System. At that time they had
undergone a number of corporate structural changes and needed assistance in planning
and configuring Agresso to accommodate these.
Major challenges presented by the assignment have been the varied and ever-changing
reporting requirements of SHG, both for internal management and statutory Group
purposes. A combination of bespoke Agresso tables and structures, with reports
written in a number of different applications resolved these issues.
SHG is a global operator, so a significant requirement of the Agresso system
is its ability to handle multi-currency transactions. Isis consultants have been
used to develop processes and outputs for multi-currency payments. Interfaces
to external bank reconciliation and cheque validation systems have also been
developed.
Specialist Holidays Group has also used Isis consultants to develop training
materials and courses for their staff and Isis continues to provide assistance
and support for current and future projects.
